A total of Php 500,000.00 worth of equipment and raw materials under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) were awarded to three rural workers’ associations in Gerona, Tarlac for their chosen livelihood project:
1. Amacalan Women’s Cooking Association-Food Processing
2. Tagumbao Climate Resiliency Farmers Association-Food Processing
3. Caturay Lantern and Handicrafts-Lantern and Handicrafts Making

Prior to the awarding of grants, a 2-Day Entrepreneurial Development Training was facilitated by the DOLE Tarlac’s Livelihood Development Specialist, Ms. Pia Monica Quijano and DILP Focal Person, Ms. Desire Julian with the help of Public Employment Service Office of LGU Gerona headed by Ms. Ninette Mamucod, PESO Manager.

The projects which are jointly funded by DOLE and LGU Gerona will benefit 70 Geronians and their families.

Hon. Mayor Eloy Eclar graced the awarding ceremony and showed his support to his constituents who are passionate to start a business.
