Children Leaders’ Summit Cum Election of Child Representatives of Schools Under Gerona North and South, BCPC Child Representatives, Faith-based and PWD Sector Child Representatives to The Municipal Council for The Protection of Children and State of the Children’s Address for the National Children’s Month Celebration held on November 29, 2022 at Municipal Evacuation Center, Brgy. Danzo, Gerona, Tarlac. with a theme: “Kalusugan at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan”

The local government unit of Gerona, through its Rural Health Unit ( RHU), headed by Municipal Health officers, Dr.Abner T. Lagade, Dr. Juliet O. Cabunoc, and Rural Health Physician, Dr. Eric Adaoag aims to promote the package of health services a pregnant woman must receive to improve birth outcome.

To encourage healthy pregnancy among the mothers, health officers provided prenatal consultations, immunization, free maternal ultrasounds, free laboratory buntis package, vitamins and minerals supplements, counseling and health teaching about proper breast feeding, good nutrition and family planning.

Our local chief executive, Mayor Eloy C. Eclar gave away maternity kit (alcohol, toilet tissue, feminine napkin, adult diaper,bath soap),baby mosquito net, cash prizes and snacks to all participants.

Also, our special visitors, Family Medicine Physicians gave a cash and food for the raffle.

THIS FEBRUARY 18, 2022 USAID AND THE MUNICIPALITY OF GERONA IN THE PROVINCE OF TARLAC FORMALIZED THEIR COMMITMENT TO IMPLEMENT COMMUNITY BASED DRUG REHABILITATION (CBDR) SERVICES IN THE MUNICIPALITY


USAID and the Municipality of Gerona in the Province of Tarlac formalized their commitment to implement Community Based Drug Rehabilitation (CBDR) services in the municipality. The local government of Gerona committed to provide CBDR services to its communities and contribute to the country’s goal of drug demand reduction while USAID will help build the capacity of Gerona’s community facilitators and health providers to conduct screening, and provide evidenced-based and culturally appropriate CBDR treatment interventions.
